Raporal starts its digital transformation process, through the SAP S/4HANA solution, implemented by Abaco Consulting


Abaco Consulting, a leading company in the implementation and maintenance of SAP information systems, was chosen by Raporal for the implementation of an integrated management system, in this case ERP SAP S/4HANA, which encompasses the aspects of Logistics (in all components from purchase to sale, through production and Quality), Accounting, Financial and Human Resources.

Raporal is a company in the Agri-food sector, whose origins are the Compound Feed Factory for Animals and which throughout its evolution has diversified its business areas, from Agriculture, Animal Production, Slaughter and Meat Processing to Meat Store where you have real contact with the Final Consumer. Given this reality, Raporal felt the need to have an integrated system that would increase the quality of data and processes, in order to improve operational efficiency and the rigor of Management Control, in accordance with the requirements of traceability and food safety .

According to Eng. Cristina de Sousa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Raporal, “with the SAP system we changed the management paradigm and reached a new level of control and analysis of our processes. This implementation represents a technological evolution that allows us to apply the best Marketing, Management, Control and Security practices for the future. Raporal is thus able to respond effectively to the requirements imposed by the certifying entities, achieving efficiency gains and preparing itself for growth in new markets, namely, in the international market”.

Thus, the choice fell on SAP S/4 HANA, which was implemented by Abaco Consulting, which intended to encompass the aspects of logistics, accounting, finance and human resources. However, as a result of the sector in which it is inserted, there was a need to activate a Specific SAP Industry Solution, the Catch Wheight Management (CWM), which allows managing materials at variable weight, maintaining two independent units throughout the supply chain . The SAP project at Raporal had a phased approach to implementation, which began in the area of human and financial resources. Gradually, the implementation was extended to the business areas, Feed, Livestock (with more than 40 swine and cattle farms). This was followed by implementation in the STEC unit, initially in the Slaughter, Slicing, Freezing and Transformation Line.

For João Moreira, CEO of Abaco Consulting, “in an SAP implementation of this dimension, with this complexity, there are always challenges inherent to the implementation itself, but the need to mobilize and reconcile the availability of the client’s team for project activities with the activities from day to day, he was always at the top of our concerns. Even because the biggest challenge was the fact that, in the middle of the pandemic, with the Ábaco team in a 100% remote regime and the Raporal team, we were able to configure, develop, demonstrate, train teams and operationalize the dismantling, transformation and dispatch areas. of the STEC unit, demonstrating that despite the adversity, with the involvement and resilience of the interveners, the objectives we set ourselves can be achieved”, he says.
